Sunset From the Harbour

Sunset From the Harbour is my first large oil painting on canvas.

It depicts the same seascape of the small version but with more freedom and flow.

I really enjoyed painting it, it was a liberating experience in terms of brush and colour marks.

Sea Sunset

Sea Sunset is an oil painting I painted from previous studies on paper.

It features the sea view I saw when travelling by ferry in the English channel.

I liked those sunset colours reflecting both in the sky and the water, it is something you can experience only by being there.

Sketch on paper - Laving Dunkerque, France

This piece is inspired by a sunset I photographed from the ferry in April last year, as I was leaving the port of Dunkerque to return to the UK. There’s something truly special about the moment when the sun gently sinks into the horizon. The colours can feel almost unreal, creating a magical atmosphere — as if time briefly stands still.

Iy is an oil on paper and I used the plaette knife for most of it.

Sky and land

Sky and Land is a landscape painting created on a portrait-oriented panel.

What drew me in was the striking relationship between the vast, cloudy sky and the land beneath it.

This view is from my garden, looking between two rows of Welsh cottages in Ystradgynlais.
